Eleanor Turner
Winner of the Philip and Dorothy Green Award for Young Concert Artists 2005, Eleanor Turner was just fifteen when she made her concerto debut with the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields, conducted by Daniel Harding.

She has performed concertos at Queen Elizabeth Hall, St. John’s Smith Square, St. George’s Bristol and Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham and recitals have included the Purcell Room, St Martin inthe- Fields, Llandudno Festival and World Harp Congress.

Eleanor studied with Daphne Boden at the RCM Junior Department where shewon many awards including the Freida Dinn and Ida Mabbett Prizes and Gordon Turner Competition. Eleanor was a Scholar at the RCM and went on to win Scholarships for Academic Excellence and Cultural Achievement to continue her studies on the BA Honours Music course at Middlesex University.

She has taken part in masterclasses abroad with Erika Waardenburg, Catherine Michel and Susann McDonald, and is currently having lessons with Alison Nicholls.

In 2002 Eleanor won the Royal Overseas League Award for Strings and Marisa Robles Harp Prize. Eleanor’s harp duo ‘Double Action’ won third prize in the 5th International Chamber Music Competition in France 2003, and was chosen to perform three World Premieres in the Park Lane Group Young Artists Series 2005.

Eleanor’s playing has been broadcast live on Classic FM and BBC Radio 3, and further broadcasts have included BBC World Service, local BBC radio stations and digital television.
